This aircraft was built in December 1946 by the Globe Manufacturing Company in Saginaw, Texas.  There were approximately 2400 built in the next few years with about 800 still in service today,  For it’s day it was a very advanced being all metal with retractable landing gear.  The Swift is one of the most modified  aircraft of all the Vintage aircraft.  This one has extended wing tips, updated radios, electric trim, and an improved instrument panel.  It was donated to the Museum in December 2008 by Jerry Cohen of Lantana, Texas.
